When I first noticed one of these trees, it had ginormous buds on it, making me wonder what the flowers would look like once they opened:
So, needless to say, I've been stalking several of these trees for over a week now. Waiting for the buds to sufficiently open.

That's funny - I always knew those as magnolias. Looks like saucer magnolias are also known as tulip trees.

I think that saucer magnolia is a bit more official of a name. I just like the tulip tree name. :)
