Amerikaner Rührteiggebäck
I've seen these several times at the grocery store and I finally broke down and bought one yesterday. "Amerikaner Rührteiggebäck" seems to loosely translate to "Americans Batter Cookie." My best guess is that they were going for a sugar cookie, but it's really more like a very flat, spongey cupcake.

So is that a good thing or a bad thing?
To me the taste didn't match up with the consistency, so while it didn't taste bad, I don't know that I need to have another one. I am glad that I tried it and settled my curiosity though!
